Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan participated in a detailed discussion with the Union Agriculture, Farmers Welfare, Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister Shri Narendra Singh Tomar on the implementation of the Agricultural Infrastructure Fund from the video conference yesterday. 


The Union Minister Shri Tomar held a video conference to discuss with the States about the infrastructure fund in the agricultural sector under self-reliant India and called upon the Prime Minister Shri Modi to make the project prepared for the prosperity of farmers successful. On the occasion, Chief Minister Chouhan said that Madhya Pradesh will work to get the maximum benefit of Agriculture Infrastructure Fund under Prime Minister Shri Modi's self-reliant India.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that this is a wonderful scheme to double the income of farmers. The government of Madhya Pradesh will leave no stone unturned in its implementation. The Madhya Pradesh government has started concrete efforts to land it. The efforts of Madhya Pradesh were mentioned in the video conference today. 

In this video conference of the Union Ministry of Agriculture, Shri Purushottam Rupala and Shri Kailash Chaudhary, both the Ministers of State of the Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, as well as the Chief Minister of Haryana, Mr. Manohar Lal Khattar, the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat and Himachal Pradesh, Gujarat and other provinces. Minister of Agriculture and Cooperation was present.

CM assured the Union Minister that there will be planned efforts in Madhya Pradesh to double the income of farmers by the year 2022. In this direction, the activities of the Department of Agriculture, Cooperation, and Horticulture have started. The formation of the State Level Monitoring Committee and District Level Monitoring Committees on behalf of the Department of Agriculture aims to expand the Farmers Producer Group (FPO) as a movement. Instructions have been given from every block to send at least two proposals under the scheme. Two committees of officers of Cooperatives Department, Apex Bank, and Markfed have been constituted on behalf of the Department of Cooperation involving officers of NABARD, NCVC, a Government of India. As per the laid down criteria, 263 District Level Primary Agricultural Credit Cooperative Societies (PACS) and 54 Marketing Societies have been identified.


Chief Minister Shri Chouhan informed that a series of advanced seedling plants, vacuum wheat packing unit, warehouse, cold storage will be developed in Madhya Pradesh. In Madhya Pradesh, processing units will be developed taking advantage of excess production of vegetables and fruits in different districts under one district. At present, the farmer is not benefited in the event of a decrease in the price of the product due to higher production. Packhouse, cold room, integrated house, integrated cold chain supply, mobile processing unit, sorting, and grading cases are being prepared by the Horticulture Department. In this regard, concrete suggestions have been made in the recent discussions to create a roadmap in self-sufficient webinars. These will be implemented

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that he is in favor of Prime Minister Shri Modi's view that farmer welfare is not possible only through subsidy etc. but long term planning should be prepared and maximum benefits should be provided while saving the producers from middlemen. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that startups in the state will also be encouraged in the field of agricultural production.
