DAP prices high will affect the farmers?

Todays the  news of an increase in the price of chemical fertilizers of the Central Government-owned company IFFCO came in the media last month, due to which there was a huge controversy across the country. On which a statement was issued on behalf of iffco and

the central government, that the price written on the packet of fertilizers is not for the farmers and the farmers will be given chemical fertilizers at the old rates only. On the other hand, the price of chemical fertilizers had already been increased by private companies across the country.

Chhattisgarh Agriculture Minister Shri Ravindra Choubey has expressed concern over the increase in the price of chemical fertilizers, especially DAP, by about Rs 700 per bag. This was urged the Union Minister of Chemicals and Fertilizers, GOI to ban this reckless increase of chemical fertilizer companies to protect farmers from the interests.

The Agriculture Minister said that farmers have been troubled along with the common people due to the Corona epidemic for the last one year. In such a situation, due to increase in the prices of chemical fertilizers including DAP, farmers will get double killed and will become helpless in buying fertilizer for the Kharif season.

Minister Shri Ravindra Choubey said that farmers are shocked by the sudden increase in the price of chemical fertilizer DAP by about 58%. Now farmers have to purchase this just fertilizer for Rs. 1900 per bag. He said that DAP fertilizer was supplied to farmers at the rate of Rs 1150 per bag in the year 2020 kharif season and Rs 1200 per bag in the Rabi season 2020 - 21.

Similarly, the price of chemical fertilizer NPK has also been increased by Rs 565 per bag. Now, this fertilizer will have to be purchased by the small farmers by giving around Rs. 1750 per bag instead of Rs. 1180 per bag. The price of all types of fertilizers of SSP has increased by about Rs. 36 per 50 kg bag. The price of chemical fertilizer mop has been increased by Rs 150 per 50 kg bag, and it will affect the farmers cost input. Its price has been increased from Rs 850 per bag to Rs 1000 per bag.
