218 villages of Madhya Pradesh most affected by floods

In the last few days, many villages have been affected by the heavy rains in Gwalior and Chambal divisions of Madhya Pradesh. Life there has not been normal till now. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh has given instructions to speed up the rescue and relief work by conducting an aerial tour. Also, in the cabinet meeting, it was decided to form a task force of 11 government departments. 

The districts of Gwalior and Chambal divisions of North Madhya Pradesh have been affected by the floods. In this, the villages of Gwalior, Shivpuri and Chambal divisions of Gwalior, Sheopur, Morena and Bhind districts are more affected.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan called a virtual cabinet meeting on 6 August 201 for the flood situation and relief work. Harikrishna Rawat, rural employment assistant of village Panchayat Bans Garh in Karaira tehsil of Shivpuri district, which is affected by the floods, told Gaon Connection over phone, “There is a big pond in the south of the village, from which small canals have emerged. Which once used to be irrigated. There are seven to eight villages around this pond. 

Due to continuous rain for 7-8 days, water entered the villages from these canals of the pond. However, these canals are not used for irrigation. In the north direction is the canal of Moni Sagar Dam. This too overflowed the village. Most are tribal families, some settled on the banks of the pond, they have been stopped in the primary school

There are about 17-18 families which have been affected the most." The population of Bansgarh village is about 3000 thousand. Battu Ram Adivasi (58 years) affected farmer of the village told 'Gaon Connection', "Brother, about 20 bighas of land Paddy was sown in it recently but got ruined in the flood. His throat filled with tears while saying this. He adds, "Apart from me, there are 17-18 people from the village, where the houses have collapsed. The crops in their fields are also bad. has occurred." 

In the meeting, Chief Minister Chouhan said, "The arrangement of food for the people of many flood affected villages is not good. In such a situation, it has been decided that 50 kg extra food will be provided per family. This will be added to the 10 kg of Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana. Four lakh rupees will be given to the family of the person who has died.
