Kharif Area increase and 48 percent rabi harvested: Agriculture Ministry

India is a hub of paddy and paddy transplanting is gradually increasing year by year. In this kharif season the sowing area of 56.50 lakh hectare has been sown according to data. This sowing information regarding crops has been given in the data of the Ministry of Agriculture. The progress of summer sowing is better and looks very good ," the ministry informed in a statement on Friday March 2021 where the rabi crop is also well and by March 26, 2021, and it states that about 48 percent of the total rabi harvested in the country.


Sowing of Kharif paddy has started in states like West Bengal, Assam, Telangana, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra  and other states. The cultivation area of oil seeds like groundnut has increased from 6.91 lakh hectare in 2020-21 to 7.20 lakh hectare this year. The sowing area of pulses has crossed 5.53 lakh hectares. If we talk about the Pulses which is sown on around 3.58 lakh hectare last year. The area under coarse cereals has reached 6.79 lakh hectares, which is more than 6.72 lakh hectares in the last year. The Govt data said that till March 25, 2021, the water level in 130 reservoirs in the country was 86 % of the previous year.


Most depending on country for food the crop  Paddy sown in 36.87 lakh hectare which is good so far in the Kharif season of 2021-22 (July-June). The area under paddy was 31.62 lakh hectare if we check the last year data during this time.

The sowing area increase is good for the country to export the produce where at some place if the govt do not want to sell in international market there is a risk of decrease price in domestic market.
