The central government has increased the minimum support price (MSP) of paddy, the main Kharif crop for the Kharif marketing season 2020-21 by just Rs 53 per quintal, ie 2.9 percent, to Rs 1,868 for the common variety and Rs 1,888 per grade-A variety. Sugar Production decreased in India

Locusts attacks over Many States of India

Weather forecast for the next three days from 23rd May to 25th May 2020.
As we know that due to Amphan there is huge damage in West Bengal. Some people had lost their life. Today we are going to read about the weather forecast and agriculture advisory for farmers so they can protect their crops. Weather is very important for farmers.
Moderate to heavy rain observed in Eastern and Southern parts of the country during the last 48 hours and very heavy rain with high speed of cyclone in West Bengal, Orissa, and Some parts of Jharkhand. Whereas light rain is observed in Northeast India.
According to the IMD Moderate to heavy rain may occur over Assam, Meghalaya, and Arunachal Pradesh during the next three days. Whereas light to moderate rain may occur over Jammu, Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, Kerala, and some more parts of Northeast India. Isolated rain may occur over some parts of Punjab, Karnataka, and Tamilnadu.
Heat Wave condition may occur over Rajasthan, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujrat, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh during next three days. The maximum temperature in some parts of the country is above 40-degree Celsius and reach up to 45-degree Celsius in Western and Central parts of the country.
Agriculture Advisory for the farmers
Farmers are advised to provide irrigation in standing crop fields like vegetables, pulses, and Horticulture crops during the evening time to reduce heat stress.
Complete the sowing of cotton in northern and central parts of the country.
Farmers can start the nursery preparation of the paddy crop.
Farmers can start the land preparation of Maize, Bajra and Guar crop in Northern parts of the country.
Early cotton sowing farmers apply weeding and hoeing in cotton. Apply irrigation in 30-35 days old cotton.
Disease and pest attack may occur over vegetables like Tomato, Brinjal, Okra, and pulses like mung and urad so monitor the crop regularly.

Wheat procurement has reached 301.95 lakh tonnes by May 17 in the current RB marketing season 2020-21, which is 74% of the fixed target of 407 lakh tonnes. Including Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, and Haryana, where 92.14 percent of seats have been purchased, the largest producer states Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and other states have only 7.86 percent share in the purchase.
According to Food Corporation of India (FCI), Punjab accounts for 40.75 percent of the total wheat procurement so far, 29.38 percent of Madhya Pradesh, and 22.03 percent of Haryana, while Uttar Pradesh has only 5.31 percent and 2.36 percent of the rate.
Food and Public Distribution Minister Ram Vilas Paswan said in a tweet on Monday that under the procurement target set for the Rabi season 2020-21, procurement of wheat and rice from farmers is going on. He said that the Food Corporation of India (FCI) has purchased 301.95 lakh tonnes of wheat and 44.85 lakh tonnes of rice till 17 May. All procurement centers are taking full care of protection from Kovid-19 infection. The procurement of wheat from Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan started from April 15 while from Haryana from April 20.
According to FCI, 301.95 lakh tonnes of wheat has been purchased so far in the current Rabi at the support price, while 314.19 lakh tonnes were procured in the same period of the last Rabi season. According to FCI, out of the total procurement done so far, Punjab has the highest procurement of 123.02 lakh tonnes, in Madhya Pradesh about 88.70 lakh tonnes and in Haryana, 66.49 lakh tonnes of wheat has been procured while 16.03 lakh tonnes in Uttar Pradesh and 7.12 lakh tonnes in Rajasthan. Purchased at the support price. Other states have procured 26,409 tonnes from Uttarakhand, 10,955 tonnes from Chandigarh, 28 tonnes from Delhi, 15,527 tonnes in Gujarat, 2,614 tonnes in Himachal Pradesh and 11 tonnes from Jammu and Kashmir.
